This is my little corner of the web to give details of our daily lives. Anything goes...I might talk about what we've eaten, where we've gone and any "accidents" the kids might have had. Camping & Scrapbooking will be high on the list of things I talk about. Pretty much anything goes. This is mainly my way of remembering things that we have done. (My memory STINKS) Sometimes I may be boring...other times, I might actually be funny. (Yeah, whatever.)

Join me over there. I'm still trying to copy this site to there...might take me a few years. lol!
I need to get updating!!!
Wednesday:
William rode the bus to school. I dropped Grace off at preschool at 9:30 and headed to Linton. Deposited Vince's check. Went to the grocery store. Was even actually able to get the groceries put away before picking up Grace. I don't really remember what we did after that or even Wednesday evening.
Thursday:
William rode the bus to school. Grace went to preschool and I went back to Linton. Paid the truck payment and took stuff back to Wal-Mart. Picked Grace up and went home. Vince came home and Grace & I went with him to the doctor. Once we were done there, we headed to Shakamak for the Kindergarten Round Up. I still can't believe I'm letting her go. We spent well over an hour and 20 minutes there. Seems there was an afternoon rush. Anyway, she did really well and interacted with each of the 3 teachers very well. So I'm not going to request a teacher like I did with William. He was a fickle one and would only talk to Mrs. Boyd. Grace...she likes all 3 and pretends to be them when she's playing school at home. We were there so late that we grabbed William as he walked by to get on the bus. When we were done at the round up, we headed home, grabbed a bite to eat, changed clothes and headed to soccer practice. Grace really seems to like it. William threw her ball at her and hit her in the nose though. That was bad. He got yelled at and she cried. He almost cried.
Friday:
Grace and I took William to school. Then we went to the church. I put a movie on for her (Veggie Tales) and proceeded to bag up as much of the snacks and I could get to fit in the 2 totes we have upstairs. We were there a couple of hours. We left there and I seen Beth & Larry out at their house so we went there. I wanted to make sure it was ok for me to take the trash from upstairs and put it in the dumpster at the daycare. They took it with them.
Then Grace and I headed to Linton, I needed ink for the printer. I decided that I might as well go on to Terre Haute and buy more bulletins as well. I called my mom and they were at Stoll's eating breakfast so we stopped by there. She was with Missy so I didn't ask her to go with us. Grace pulled Triston right out of his chair. No wait. She pulled him over booster seat and all. Bad part was...the booster seat was strapped to the chair. Poor kid couldn't get up on his own. I made a quick exit after that. Grace was really ticking me off. I decided that we would try to meet Daddy for lunch. I stopped by Subway and grabbed her a kids meal and headed that direction. We got there 10-15 minutes early. I would up letting her sit in the middle and went ahead and started her eating. She absolutely LOVES pepperoni sandwiches. It cracks me up. And her choice of toppings? Get this one: lettuce, pickles and black olives. What a crazy kid. =)
When it was time for Vince to go back, we headed toward The Open Door to get bulletins. Grace played in the kid section while I picked out a few packages of bulletins. Then she tried to get me to buy her a toy. Everything she wanted was well over $15 and I wasn't doing that. I did finally let her buy 2 balloons. Then we headed home. We got side-tracked at the Saturn dealership though. I mentioned test driving one and she threw a fit that she wanted to (I had changed my mind and was going to just go home). So we spent AN HOUR there. I was so not happy. There is no sense is spending an hour at a dealership just to test drive a car. And then to top it off....the sales guy calls us that night and the next day to 'see if I had any questions'. No. Your No Haggle, No Hassle policy really turns me off when the Saturns are the same price and the other makes/models and at least THOSE GUYS come down (usually)! And I really wasn't as impressed with it as I thought I was going to be. I test drove the Saturn Outlook. They classify it as a cross-over. It's cross between a SUV and a mini-van. It was nice, but the plain jane model was $30,000. And you have to be a contortionist to adjust the seat back. Oh well. I have no intentions of buying a vehicle until the truck is paid off anyway.
We got home maybe 45 minutes before William got home from school. Actually, I think it was a lot closer than that. And that made me mad too. I told the guy that I had to get home to pick up my son. Grr..
I didn't make anything for Bible Study. We did go though. Larry Sr. is teaching again and going over Revelation and coinciding it with current events. It's rather interesting. Vince went to a prayer meeting at the Church of God prior to us going to Bible Study. That really seems to be helping him.
Saturday:
We got up bright and early. We had to be at the soccer fields by 9am for Grace's first game. She did really well for never playing before. I had to keep bribing her with a doll though to get her to keep up. She's not use to running around like that, even though she is the more active of our 2 kids. William did amazingly well at his game. Come to find out, he heard us bribing Grace and played his guts out. When the game was over...he asked if he could get something too. lol! What a smart kid.
When the game was over, we headed to Wal-Mart. Grace picked out a Cabbage Patch doll. It's face gets 'messy' when you wipe it's cold popcicle over it's face. Then it has a 'warm' washcloth that cleans it's face up. It's their mid-size doll. William got a dinosaur that is supposed to walk across the floor, but it doesn't so we are going to have to take it back.
Then we headed to Pizza Hut. Grace had a book-it coupon to use. We all got the buffet. I was amazed that we all ate for under $20!
We went home after Pizza Hut. I changed my clothes into short and a tank top and mowed the yard. The kids played outside for a while and then went inside. Vince went and helped the Zimmerman's move. My mom came up and watched the kids while I went to a Secret Sister event. We went to Stoll's and ate dinner. She was still there when I got back. I wasn't happy. She hadn't eaten dinner yet and it was after 8 when I got home. Oh well.
Sunday:
It's back to work for me. It wasn't too bad of a day. I had a lot of problem logs, but it didn't seem to bad. Vince and the kids made it to Sunday School. Vince said the morning service was awesome. It was all the Holy Spirit. I guess they didn't get a chance to even preach. We went to church when I got home. I ran the computer. Alter Addicts did the praise and worship. Brother Bo preached. It was a good service too. One of our teenagers started the preaching out. She's on FIRE!
Monday:
At work again. Today is Cheryl's first day on days. It went really smooth. I noticed that Mark didn't spend as much time on the phone as he usually does. Don't know if that was because Cheryl is here or not. As long as he's helping answer the phone, I really don't care! It was an unusual Monday. The phones were unusually quiet. Maybe that was because a 3rd person was helping? Who knows.
I met the family over at Graham and Marcy's for supper. She fixed the mushrooms that Graham found on Sunday. William even likes mushrooms! I couldn't believe it! Vince left for the prayer meeting almost as soon as I walked in the door. I left Marcy's around 7:45. Took the kids home, got Grace in the tub. Let them watch a little tv and then headed them to bed. I think they were finally in bed at 9:20 and I wasn't far behind them!
Tuesday:
It's been an unusually quiet day at work again today. Not sure what is going on there. Cheryl is most likely going to be taking over lotus notes which I think is awesome. That will be much better for everyone...especially the people who need stuff done!
I am going to be moving my blog to WordPress. The url is http://thehouses.wordpress.com/. This will most likely be my last post here at BraveJournal. From now on...check out http://thehouses.wordpress.com. I will be moving all my previous posts (all 504 of them) to my wordpress blog. That will take me a while. I really like how Word Press is laid out. At the side, you can choose whatever month you want to view and read just that month or whatever.
Now my website is NOT moving. It is still http://thehouses.bravehost.com/.
The kids have soccer practice tonight. William's is at 5 and Grace's is at 6. I will be missing both obviously. They might get home before I do, but I doubt it.
I can't believe I haven't posted at all about my last 4 days off and tomorrow, I begin 4 new days off.
Maybe I'll be able to remember...maybe I'll just post the highlights.
Tuesday
Found William's glasses case
Thursday evening: church
Friday: had pictures taken for church directory.
Asthma checkup.
William has gained 10 pounds since his last visit in August. Ugh. Said to make sure eating right food, no fried foods, sweets. But more importantly, get him off his butt. Asthma...UGH! Came home on Flovent to do twice/day. Great gained 10 pounds AND put back on an inhaled steroid. Did best breathing function test he has ever done. Awesome!
We didn't get home in time to make it to Grace's first soccer practice. Didn't get home from Riley in time. Went to the nature hike with the Tiger Cubs. That was pretty fun.
Wednesday: They found Willam's glasses case. Cool! What a load off my mind. =)
Also, here is an email I sent to my update list:
Grace is doing so well with school that I am going to take her to the kindergarten round up. She recognizes all of her letters and can write them all as well (in all caps anyway) and she can count to 60. She just might go to kindergarten the fall afterall. The only thing she isn't doing and the only reason preschool said to keep her out is because she is still fidgety.
Well I'm not going to try to remember anything else.
I've been reading a few other blogs. Ones that are MUCH more entertaining than I am. Check them out, you might leave me for them, and I most certainly wouldn't blame you. I only wish I could write about us and be entertaining as well. I'll try to work on that....

The dr prescribed Lexapro for Vince. We should notice a difference in about 10 days. He will kill me if he knew I put this out here. I might have to just delete these entries. But it is our life and nothing to be ashamed of. I still swear this all stems from that Avelox he was on in 2004. I think they have a class action lawsuit against them, but I think it is for causing diabetes and not depression, etc. Anyhoo. I went and picked it up after work Friday. He went to a prayer meeting with a friend. Marcy took the kids to Bible Study and I met them all there.
Saturday: I worked all day. Vince had to work 4 hours. The kids stayed with Marcy. She had to take them with her to the church to clean, but it all worked out. Vince picked them up there. Well, he got there and they stayed another 2 to 3 hours! lol! When they left there, they went and got something to eat at Twist N Shake. Then they went home and finished packing. I booked us a motel in Plainfield for the night. They met me at the Road Ranger in Brazil. We left the Jeep there and headed to Plainfield. Once we got there, we checked in and then went to Chick-Fil-A. Good food, good atmosphere and the kids got to play for a little while. We stopped by Dick's Sporting Good in Metropolis (their outdoor mall). They had roller blades, but not in Vince's size. They were on sale for $80. I could have gotten a pair, but I would be just as happy with a $20 pair from Wal-Mart to start out with. We left there and went back to the motel and got the kids bathed and went to bed.
Sunday: I got us a wake-up call for 7:30. I could have let us sleep another 1/2 or so. Oh well. Vince and I got up and showered then we headed to the lobby for breakfast. William had fruit loops, milk and a banana. Grace had 2 hard boiled eggs and milk. I had a bagel with cream cheese and a Belgian waffle (that I only ate 1/2 of). Vince had some sort of donut. After we ate, we went back to our room and I realized that we had an hour before we had to leave. William played his gameboy, Grace played drama queen and Vince watched tv. I made sure all of our stuff was in the suitcase and then laid down on the bed. I would have went back to sleep had it been quiet.
We left the motel around 9:15 or so and headed to the church. We got there about 15 after. We had to sit on the front row because that was the only place left for 6 people. The first thing they did was Delaney's baptism. I wound up standing the back with the big lens on my camera and attempted to get some pictures of her. I think less than 1/2 turned out very well. Jennifer on the other hand was right there hidden behind the wall and got some great shots of her. I guess the water was REALLY cold. The heater kicked off in the middle of the night. It takes 12 hours to heat it back up. Poor Delaney was freezing. She recited a memory verse (more like verses). And then said that Jesus is her Saviour. It was Awesome to say the least. They then had a musical that was really good. And lastly the Pastor gave a sermon titled: Because He Lives!. Pretty good memory, eh? Not really, it's all in their bulletin that I brought home with me. =)
After church was over, we headed to Spence's house where Jennifer had prepared an AWESOME dinner for us. I mean it was awesome. My favorite? The dump cake we had for dessert! It was HOT out of the oven. Yum. The rest of it was very good too. Ham, hash brown casserole, Jennifer's baked beans as I call them, green bean casserole, rolls and shells N cheese. We even had a yellow cake with white icing that was in the shape of a Cross to commemorate Delaney's baptism. Way cool. While the food was heating up, Vince and Graham hid Easter eggs in the back yard. Once those were hidden, the kids went out and hunted them down with amazing sleuth-like abilities. After they were done, we took them inside and divided them up so they all had an equal amount. Grace found 20, Delaney, 21 and William, 28. The twins, they were sleeping. After dinner, we all sat around and talked while the kids played. We put most of the dishes in the dish washer and then just sat around. We did get pictures of the kids together before dinner (before the twins laid down for their nap).
We finally headed home a little after 4. We were home long enough to change clothes (Grace changed hers twice) and get the kids peanut butter and butter sandwiches and then we headed to church. Alter Addicts and Soul Fire were performing so I got to sit in the service AGAIN! Whoo HOOO! My secret sister left me a package. I got a new notebook that is a pale blue and says Dream on it, a set of pens, CHOCOLATE!, juicy fruit gum, body wash, lotion and a spray mist. (do I stink? LOL!) Alter Addicts played quite a few songs and Soul Fire did a few skits. I think William said they only did 3. We stayed and ate afterward. We didn't get to bed until after 11. Grace slept with us (which is odd...she hates our room).
Monday: Not much to report about so far today. Aunt Stella emailed me that Grace has some bites on her leg. Marcy thinks it's from Spence's dog. It could also be spider bites. Odd thing is...the rest of us don't have them. I emailed William's teach to see if they have had any luck finding his glasses case and to let her know that he is to go to daycare today.
So that's it for now!
******Update********
4/17/07 I came back to correct a spelling error and re-read the post. Interesting how I left out how my kids were treated while in Plainfield. Hm. Self-censorship. I probably do this often for fear of them actually READING my blog. Although I only know of 2 family members and 1 friend who have ever read it. Maybe I should stop censoring myself. Maybe I should stop fearing confrontation and say what I think like out loud to people and things would change. LOL! Whatever. Vince HAS and it doesn't work.
I found this on another blog. Hopefully, it will work...meaning...have the words I put in it on there.
We had church last night. I got to sit in the service! Woo Hoo! We finally have enough people helping and showing up that I get to spend more time in the service. I'm glad too because I need it! Anyhoo. Grace was ticked because we didn't stay and eat at church.
Friday:
Vince got up and came into the kitchen while I was eating breakfast. He asked me to call the dr and get him a prescription. I spent the better part of 2 hours researching depression today and the drugs that go with them. I called at 8:16 and let them know that he wanted a prescription, but not Prozac and it couldn't interfer with his Benecar for his high blood pressure. We will see what he winds up getting. If the medicine doesn't work out, I will push to have him checked for a few things that WebMD.com says could be wrong. I asked before we left if we were going to Bible Study. Sounds like we will be. That's good because we need it too.
Anywhoo. I have our website updated with new pictures. Grace's new Easter Dress, the kite flying, playing in the park, William's new glasses, and the Tiger Cubs at the firestation.
http://thehouses.bravehost.com/2007.html
After we bought the eggs for Sunday, they announced that they needed to be filled. I forgot to pick ours back up. I'll have to see if they are still there tonight (Thursday).
Monday: I got up and took William to school. I felt like absolute CRAP. Grace and I seen that my mom and Jerry was uptown eating breakfast so we went there. Then we went home. I crawled back in bed and didn't get up until 12:40. I then took Grace to the park. It was BEAUTIFUL outside! We played at the Coalmont Park for an hour and a half. Then we went and picked up William from school. We then went back to the park for another hour and a half. Vince called at 3:30 asking where we were. He came on down to the park too. Marcy had seen us there and came by as well. After we were done playing at the park (I took a TON of pictures...100 of them!), we went to Marcy's. She fixed chicken and stuff. Then we went home. Both kids have to have baths. They were dirty from head to toe. And had a BLAST getting that way! I'm only putting 3 of the pictures I took on the website though. One of Grace, one of William and one of them together (that I didn't even ask them to pose for!!!).
Tuesday: William rode the bus and I went back to bed after he got on it. Grace slept in too. I got up at 8 and took a shower. I was starting to feel better. I took her to school at 9:30 and then headed to Linton. I bought her a pair of sandals at Show Shoe for Easter. Bought William a pair of shorts. Wound up taking both back on Wednesday because neither fit. Grace's shoes fit length-wise, but were for someone with a MUCH thicker foot. I called Vince's brother's house to let them know we were coming up for Delaney's Baptism. I barely made it to the school in time to pick up Grace from preschool. We went home and unloaded the groceries. I know we didn't take a nap, but I don't remember what we did. I did call the school and had William do a "practice run" to the daycare. I waited at the daycare for him and talked with Anita while waiting. It was raining like crazy. There were t-storm watches and warnings for most of our area. The bus pulled up and let 2 boys off and then closed it's doors. Neither boy was mine. Talk about freaking out. lol! I don't know if he finally stood up and realized where he was or if the bus driver could see Anita clawing through the door to get out. lol! But she stopped again and let him out. By the time he got inside, he had hail in his hair. Vince got home early as well. We decided to go to Twist N Shake for supper. William had a free meal coming to him for his Straight A report card. Marcy pulled in right before us so we all ate together. Then we ran home and grabbed the cub scout stuff and headed to the meeting. We had one family call and ask if the meeting was cancelled. I guess they announced at school that it was. Must have been the group that meets right before us. So I called everyone on the drive to the meeting. Good thing I did, one family woudn't have been there and we went to the fire house for one of the achievements for their Tiger Cub badge.
Wednesday: William rode the bus again today. Grace slept in until about 8:30! Woo hoo! I got up and took her to school and then met my sister for breakfast. I was starting to feel icky again. After we were done eating, I ran back to the house and picked up Vince's check, listened to the messages (William's glasses were in), took snacks to the 1st Grade and then went back to the preschool. I cut out some tires for the wheelbarrells they are making to plant something in. When school was out, Grace and I headed to Linton. First we deposited Vince's check and then we went to Taco Bells (as Grace calls it). She LOVES eating there. She even said, "Thank You, Mommy for bringing be to Taco Bells." She's such a doll. After we ate, we took back her shoes. She didn't like any of the others there so we headed to Wal-Mart. We returned William's shorts and headed for the shoe aisle. After wading through the hooker shoes, (the ones that look like they were made for hookers, but small enough for your 2 year old), I finally found a pair of sandal that were adjustable both across her foot and her ankle. So we grabbed those and went and got Lucky some new food. Poor thing coughed up a hairball the other day that was big enough to kill her. I seriously wonder how it didn't. So we picked up some cat food for indoor cats. Then we headed back to Jasonville. It was around 2:15 and I decided to just go ahead and pick William up. I didn't want to go home and come back (12 miles) and didn't want to sit in the truck for 45 mintues with Grace. I had just pulled onto our road (had an insurance paper I needed to take with us) when Vince called me. He was on his way home, so we waited for him. We went to the eye center and got William's glasses. I took pictures. I got a before, after, reflection in the mirror, one of the outside of the building and one of the sign. Should make a decent scrapbook page. =) Then we headed to the mall. I wanted to check out Sears and see if they had shorts in William's size. They didn't have any that didn't come down to his ankles. Grace found a dress, but it didn't fit well so we headed to JC Penneys. We got him 3 pair of jeans and a dress for Grace. We considered getting shoes for the kids. They were buy 1, get 1 for $1. We didn't want to sit around and wait though. Grace was belly-aching that she was hungry so we decided to go to Lone Star for supper. William had steak, Grace had grilled cheese. lol! Vince was feeling like crap so we took most of his home. I had steak and lobster. I ate the lobster, took the steak home. I had it for lunch today. Marcy called us while we were in Terre Haute. They were coming up to eat at Red Lobster and were going to stop by our house on the way home for cake and ice cream. Today was Graham's 55 bday. We got home around 7-7:30 and they were maybe 30 minute behind us. She had gotten an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins. Oh my was that good!
Thursday: Back to the grind for me. Grace went to her new daycare today. I'll have to see how that went. Vince came home from work early. He's been feeling really run down the past couple of weeks. He went to the dr, but he really wasn't any help. He thinks he is depressed. He has all the classic symptons. I think he needs to take the medicine and see how it goes. I'll talk to Vince and might call tomorrow depending on what he says. He is supposed to go back for a follow-up in 2 weeks. He wanted to send Vince to a therapist, but he told him he would talk to our pastor instead. He found one of them and talked to him. Today was Grandparents Day at school. Both my mom and Marcy made it. Mom brought William home with her and picked Grace up as well. Vince was in bed by the time she got there. William's teacher emailed me. The kids made a big deal about William's glasses and how cool they were. That's good... Back in my day, they would have been calling him names. But in HIS day, that would get them into trouble for bullying!
We have church tonight. Bible Study tomorrow night. It's an office holiday here at work tomorrow so only the manufacturing people and me will be here. Saturday will be usual...only me and manufacturing. Sunday we are closed. Scot told me NOT to take the cell phone with me. Yippee! Monday will be the last day of our rotation.
Look for pictures sometime tomorrow on our website!
After I got home from work, we loaded up the bikes and headed to Shakamak. We rode part of the pedestrian pathway and then went back to the park that is along the parking lot for the pool. When Vince and the kids went there, I went on a longer bike ride by myself. I took the path behind the pool to the dam and headed around toward the West Shelter House. Then by the tennis courts and back across the dam to the path and then through the parking lot back to Vince and the kids. It felt great to be able to ride that fast!
We got up this morning and went to Sunday School. It's been awhile since we've been to Sunday School. Today Pam was asking a bunch of question about how we felt about things in the new church, etc. I think it was an eye opener. After church, we went to Graham and Marcy's for lunch. Then we went home, changed clothes and went back to the park. This time, we brought the 'bike trailer' and Grace rode in it instead of riding her bike. That way...we could go faster without feeling bad for leaving her and either me or Vince behind. We went on a little longer of a ride today, but I don't know how much longer. Feels longer when you are riding instead of driving. lol! Then we came home and the kids played outside. It was windy out so I got out their kite and we tried to fly it. It just wouldn't stay in the air for long. I don't know how everyone else manages to keep those crazy things in the air...After that the kids came in to watch tv, I downloaded the pictures and Vince mowed the yard. I fixed supper and now Vince is in the shower and we are leaving for church when he gets out. We've got to stop in town to get diesel and plastic eggs for next Sunday.
Vince and the kids got to sleep in. He didn't work because it was slow. I didn't hear from them until about 11:30. They were in Linton cashing a check. After that, they headed to Terre Haute to meet me for lunch. They picked me up a little before 1. We went to KFC on Ft. Harrison.
After they dropped me back off at work, they headed down to Deming Park. Grace LOVES that park. Too bad it is so far away. It's got an AWESOME playset. Vince said they were there about an hour and then headed toward Shakamak to go bike riding. Vince said they did more playing at the playgrounds through-out the park than they did bike riding.
I called him on my drive home. They had just gotten home at 6. Marcy had called and said she was ordering pizza and to come there. The kids spent the night there because Vince had to work for 4 hours today. A Time and Material job. Oh joy, joy. So we ate there. Graham got home about 8. Man he looks worn out. We watched Identity there and then kissed the kids and went home. We were in bed by 10.
Saturday:
It's been fairly quiet today. I've done more work for our 3181 side of the street than I ever have before. There is a lady filling in for someone else and she's had all sorts of odd problems. Vince and the kids I think stayed around the house. The game plan is to go bike riding at the park when I get home. Then before I go to bed, I need to type up and print the bulletins!
Tomorrow we have church. Might go bike riding one more time since school is back in session on Monday. No real plans for Monday. The kids are supposed to get their pictures taken at the new daycare, but that's it. I'm hoping and praying that William's new glasses come in before Thurday so I can be the one to take him to pick them up.
Tuesday the cub scouts are planning on meeting at Shakamak to go on a trail walk. It's one of their requirements. Graham's birthday is Wednesday. And Thursday, it's back to work for me and the kids actually start at the new daycare.
That's all for now!

I just now had a chance to send out a message about Grace's eye.
Vince's Aunt Stella met me at the doctor Thursday.
He could SEE the scratch on her eye. I'm positive it was the outside cat that did it. Grace says she bit her. Yes, the cat is still alive. lol! In the cat's defense, Grace isn't exactly easy on her or Lucky, our indoor cat. Couple that with the fact that the outdoor cat is pregnant. Ugh. Grace will be thrilled to have kittens.
Back to her eye. He said it wasn't anything to worry about. It wasn't bad and it wasn't infected. He said IF it started to become matty, to call and he would call in a prescription for some eye drops, but he felt it would heal itself. I didn't tell him that I had already put eye drops in from the last eye infection she had. That will be our little secret.
So, her eye is fine. Now back to our normal programming. =)
Man, we were waiting in the second waiting room (aka examination room) FOREVER! I think it was because they worked us in right before lunch. Anyhoo.
He could see a little scratch. He put some yellow stuff in her eye and looked again with a flashlight. Yep. Scratch on her eye. He said it didn't look back and that he felt it would heal up on it's own. If we noticed it starting to matt shut, to call and he would get us a prescription for eye drops. So yea! that it isn't bad.
I have another YEAH! The lady who checked us in...didn't make me pay our co-pay! WOo HOO! She knows we have 2 insurances that the second insurance picks it up. I told her I appreciated it because I had already given the clinic almost $400 in 2 days (William's glasses, co-pays for their visit on Monday and $10 to have their daycare forms filled out). She was floored. Which reminds me. The lady who was doing the forms...she cut me some slack too. It should have been $20 and she put both forms under Grace's name so I only had to pay $10. Praise the Lord!
After we left the doctor, Aunt Stella was going to go to McDonald's to get the kids something to eat and head home. Hopefully, William gets a new TMNT. He has Michaelangelo and Raphael already. He needs Donatelo and Leonardo.
I was going to wait until after William's doctor appointment in April with his asthma doc, but we have some noteworthy news. Don't go crazy. We aren't having more kids. lol! William is getting glasses. His teacher emailed me a couple of weeks ago and said he was having trouble seeing the chalk board. I called that day and got him an appointment for this past Monday with our pediatrician (that was the earliest they could get him in). I honestly thought he was faking it. He said he could see the board when Mrs. Miller was writing, but not the special person paper. Even the doctor thought that was crazy.
At the pediatrician appointment, his right eye was 20/80 and his left was 20/60. He now weighs 92.5 pounds and is 51 3/4 inches tall. And
Grace weighs 49 1/4 pounds and is 43 1/2 inches tall. (She went in for her red, peeling, cracking toes). She has eczema. He was referred to an eye doctor.
So Tuesday, I drag the kids to Terre Haute. again. Same results with the eye chart. The right eye was a little better, but I don't remember what. Mom might have it, she took notes for me. =) Anyhoo. William wasn't exactly cooperating with the doctor. He would ask him a question and he would him haw around and not really answer him. So he dilated his eyes. You can either see or you can't with your eyes dilated. He could see the letters although blurry, but they were much more clear with the lenses in front of his eyes. So he got a prescription for -1.00 for both eyes. We went out and picked out some cool Spiderman frames. They should be in next week.
On the drive home, Grace's left eye looked irritated. I put some Visine in it when we got home, but it was swollen when she got up this morning. So, I'm calling in the morning to see if we can get her in to see the pediatrician again. Nothing like paying $75 in co-pays in one week. I hate insurances and that clinic. I wish our pediatrician would branch out on her own!!! (That's what I said about the last 2 we had too). We aren't exactly sure what happened to her, but suspect that the stray cat that has been living at our house (Grace named her Summer) did it. Grace has a scratch by that eye and we think that maybe she scratched her eye. If nothing else, we are positive that it is an infection of some sort whether it was caused by the cat or not.
I'll send pictures another day. I have Grace's preschool pictures back. They are adorable.

The update: Grace has a 11:40am appointment this morning to have her eye looked at. She insisted that Aunt Stella brings her up. My mom is going to stay with William. I'll post an update when I get back from the doctor.
I not only got my blog updated, but I uploaded pictures from this week and have our website updated too! What is going on here! I'm sure it isn't a trend. lol!
Miss Grace may be going back to the doctor tomorrow. It appears that she may have an eye infection. Great. I've already given that stupid clinic enough money this week! This will be $50 for her in just 2-3 days!!! Plus William's co-pay and his glasses/frames. They are killin' me!
My mom called and woke me up at 8am. She thought we had an early appointment. She felt bad for waking me, but it was best...I needed to get up and get going.
Got up, showered, dressed and fed the kids. Then we headed to the new daycare. I believe it's actual name is Learn A Lot Daycare and Preschool. We met the lady who is there in the morning and 5 of the kids. I got 2 sets of hefty forms to fill out. Ugh. I had forgotten what a pain THAT was. We weren't there very long. The kids ran around and mine were starting to get overly rambunctious so we left. Both kids say they love it. Both know kids that go there so that helps. The lady who was there has a daughter in the second grade and William knows her. Her son is in preschool with Grace and another boy from Grace's preschool goes there.
We left there, went and grabbed a pop and headed to Coalmont. We visited mamaw while I started on the forms. She had gotten called into work so we were only there about 30 minutes. Then we walked over to my mom's house and then we left for Terre Haute (stopping by our house because I had left my rings on the bathroom counter). We had plans to meet Vince for lunch. We stopped at the Mickey Ds on SR 46 and grabbed us all something to eat and then headed to where Vince is working. He is working on the new Hux Center behind Union Hospital. We didn't wait long. They haven't been busy so they all left for lunch early. We visited with him until 12:30 when he had to go back to work.
We then headed down to AP&S for William's appointment. I first went to the main building to have their forms for daycare filled out. Then we went into the eye care building for William's appointment. I honestly thought the kid was bluffing that he was having problems seeing. But. He wasn't. He did ok for the nurse. He didn't do as well for the dr. I think he was intimidated by him. So the next step was to dilate his eyes. Can't fake it like that! lol! His pupils were huge! He got a cool pair of those old people sunglasses to wear. The nurse gave Grace a pair too. Then back out to the waiting room for 25 minutes for his eyes to dilate. Grace kept acting up so I sent her to the truck with my mom (to watch a movie on the dvd player). We were called back a little after 2. They did the eye chart thingy again and it showed that he could see more clearly with glasses. So he got a prescription for -1.00 in both eyes. Then out to the shopping area to pick out some frames. The lady brought us like 10 pair to try on. William and I agreed on the Spiderman pair. They are silver, but not the shiny kind. More like a brushed silver. There are spider webs and the spiderman spider on each ear piece. And they come with a cool Spiderman case. =) She said the kids lenses come with something, I don't remember, but I could get it in clear or the kind that darkens in the sun. I chose the kind that darkens in the sun. So sometime next week, they will be calling and we will be going to TH to pick up his new glasses. This time...I will have my CAMERA with me. I never even thought to take a picture with my camera phone...
After we left there, we stopped by Ford and got a toolbox from my neice's husband and then went grocery shopping at Wal-Mart. I forgot the garden hose that Vince needs for his new power washer. Oops.
I picked up some steak and Vince grilled it last night. His mom called. She had made some cinnamon rolls so after supper, we went to her house and picked those up. Then back home for baths and to bed.
Aunt Stella is staying with the kids the rest of the week.
Monday morning, we had to be in Terre Haute by 9:30 for a dr appointment for the kids. Vince was still sick so he stayed home today. We went for William's eyes, but I called and had them pull Grace's chart for her toes.
Stats:
William weighs 92.5 pounds and is 51 3/4 inches tall.
Grace weighs 49 1/4 pounds and is 43 1/2 inches tall.
When William was at the doctor last August. His vision was 20/25. Today. His right eye was 20/80 and his left 20/60. So we were referred to an eye doctor.
Grace's toes...eczema. They will look horrible in the winter (like they have his year) and good in the summer (they were already clearing up). She prescribed a new cream that is mainly steriod.
When we left the dr, we headed down to the mall. I went to Galloway Photo and bought a remote control for my camera. Then we went to McDonald's for lunch. We seen Marcy's friend with her hubby and granddaughter. Then we went to the Open Door. I bought a new NKJ Ultraslim Bible. William got a Don't Sink in the Sink game and Grace got a Queen Esther doll. This doll is gorgeous! We'll see how long it stays that way...
Then we headed to Deming Park for the kids to play on their awesome playground. I might have pictures of it from last year (October 2006) on our website. We went there after visiting Sturgeon's barn. I did take 2 pics of the kids, but with my camera phone. I won't be paying the $$ to send them to my email account. At least not yet. lol! We spent roughy 40 minutes at the park.
Then we headed to the dentist. Both kids behaved well. Both got a cleaning and flouride. They used an orange flaver for William this time. He did ok with it so we will use it from now on. Grace's teeth were great this time. William on the other hand had TWO cavaties! Vince and Marcy both said, well he doesn't even eat candy. No, but he likes to drink pop and those bug juice drinks....I think those did it. Anywhoo. We go back May 7 to have those taken care of. One of the cavaties is on a permanent molar. They will use the filling that is the same color as their teeth so that is good...he won't have a mouth like mine that is full of mercury-laden fillings. =)
We headed home after we were done at the dentist.
We went to church. Sandy ran the computer. Yeah! It is so nice having more people to do that...gives me more time to actually be in the service. Marcy volunteered to teach Grace's Sunday School class. Otherwise, they would have been just babysat by a 10 and 11 year old....
We had lunch at Graham and Marcy's. They had fixed a baked spaghetti on Friday night and we had left overs. When we got home from there, I crashed on our bed for a couple of hours.
We went back to church Sunday night. Vince wasn't feeling well and I sent him back home. Marcy took me and the kids home. Well, after we stayed and ate at the filling station. I'm having issues with the theater. I talked to our pastor about it after church. We will see if it gets resolved or not.
We slept in until 8:30. I wanted to sleep until 10, but that didn't happen. Vince went to Linton and had the gas tanks for the grill filled up. When he got home, we headed to Terre Haute. We stopped first at Gander Mountain. We were looking for roller blades, but they didn't have any. We did come out with a dish drainer for the camper and a stick that makes your campfire different colors. Then we went to some cycle shop. They didn't have any roller blades either. They suggested Toys R Us. They had youth sizes, but none for adults. We went to Menards after that to look for a new wooden swingset. I think we've decided to do the build your own. We haven't decided on which one though. We did go ahead and buy a new swing seat. The playset we have only has 1 swing on it. The metal swingset we have...William can't be on because it isn't cemented into the ground. We ate lunch at Diary Queen and then went to Wal-Mart. We picked up new sandals for the kids and a power washer for Vince. Then we finally headed home.
When we got home, we went to Shakamak Park and rode our bikes around the campgrounds. We went into town and rented some movies. William rented Dinotopia. We have a cartoon version, but I don't think this one is like it. It's a 2 disc set. Grace rented a Mary Kate & Ashley movie and I rented Eragon. I can't wait to watch it. I've read the book and couldn't hardly put it down.
The kids played outside while Vince grilled some hamburgers. I took a bunch of pictures. We came in and ate and then went out again. Vince put his powerwasher together inbetween checking on the burgers.
Now Grace is in the tub and William will be in the shower when she is done. Then we will relax and hope like crazy that it cools off in our house...it's 80 degrees in here and I'm NOT turning on the air if I don't absolutely have to. It looks like I'll be watching Eragon after the kids are washed up and ready for bed...

When I left work, I went directly to a friend of Vince's house. He's a photographer. I needed a 10X13 of my niece and her husband printed out. It was one I took of them at their wedding. I needed to have it done quite a while ago, but just hadn't gotten around to it. We wound up doing a 11X14 instead. He did some touch-up work on it and it looks great.
Then I headed to Graham & Marcy's. Graham made baked spaghetti for supper. It was delicious!! We hung around there for about 45 minutes and then headed to Linton. William didn't know it, but we were going to watch TMNT. Vince had asked Grace if she wanted to see it earlier and told her not to tell her brother. Amazingly enough...she didn't! He didn't know what we were going to watch until we got there. We went to the 9pm show, obviously. It was really good. A little intense for Grace at times, but not much more intense than the Saturday morning cartoon.
Let's start with what I did yesterday. I tried to get a 'flickr badge' working to put on my website...in place of the entire black and white page I have. But I can't get it to work. I've went to the forums and found that my account was still pending. It stays like that for 10 business days (or for some people...a couple of years). So I got that taken care of and it still doesn't work. Now I'm beginning to think that I have to have the pro account (the one I have to pay for) to get it to work. I hope not. I checked another forum and it appears that there is a problem with either the badges or the search part of flickr. So I will wait until I'm back on rotation next week and see if it is fixed. If not, I'll post a question asking if I have to be a pro user. I'm hoping not. If I do have to have a pro account...I'll leave the page like it is. I'm not paying for a pro account until I HAVE to.
Last night we had parent/teacher conferences. William has straight A's (which I already knew because I check his grades online often). His biggest problem really is keeping his hands to himself! He's a touchy/huggy kind of kid. Anyhoo. He is well beyond what they expect for this stage in the year. He's my school kid. Grace...she's my socialite and beauty queen. lol! (But she's smart too...she just doesn't want anyone to know it).
After the p/t conf. we went to church. We had the theater last night. The kids did really well over all. We watched the Donkey Ollie DVD that Grace's preschool teacher gave to me. Then we had several to hand out to the kids. There were a couple of kids that got 2: one for mom's house, one for dad's house.
We got home and in bed around 10:30. Good heavens I'm tired.
I spent some time yesterday at webmd.com trying to see if I could find an actual 'ailment' for me. There were 3 options that were the closest. Type 2 Diabetes, Sleep Apnea and get this...sleep depravation. Hmm.... I'm leaning toward the sleep deprivation or sleep apnea. I might have the sleep apnea checked out, but then again...maybe not.
11:25 Marcy just called me. She forgot to give the preschool my check. Ugh. Oh well. I've been trying to call the owner and she has to be online as I'm not getting her answering machine.
12:55 IT WORKS!! My flickr badge works! Check it out! http://thehouses.bravenet.com/ It's on the main page.
So far, flickr.com is working out pretty well. The last 3 pictures from the Zoo are hosted there as well as 14 more that I just updated our website with. I've been considering actually upgrading my flickr account (GASP!), but am going to wait to see if I exceed my free bandwith first. No need in paying if I don't have too!!!
Anyhoo. I just updated our 2007 page with some pictures I took of the kids a few days ago. They did a treasure hunt. Now I need to go back and post the ones of the kids from the day William stayed home from school sick. Which reminds me...I need to email his teacher. Oh heck...I'll see her tonight so I'm not going to bother.
